My mate Carl trying to tickle someones wood |
“If you find the hole, you will be ok”, “If I touch john I may get
into trouble”, “Just tickle my wood” ,” I need more grass”, “My wood is in such
a bad position”, “The head is short could be a problem”, “I don’t need you to
lose your wood”, “ Drive it straight up the middle Tony I am sure it will fit”.
Words that you would hear at a lap-dancing establishment ?, a knockshop ?, Stoners convention ? “Nah”
while watching my mate from East London (owner of Tindale Lodge) playing Bowls.
Last Sunday stupidly agreed to go and watch Carl and his mates play a league
match, “average age of competitor – 89” well not quite but almost. Bowls is OK to play with a beer and a piece of Pizza in your hand, but it is not - “I repeat” NOT a spectator sport add very
hot and humid to the mix, with the bar being closed, this makes for a long long
long long afternoon. To relieve my boredom I attempted to liven up the
proceedings by starting a Mexican wave, but the old dude and his dog as well as some hobo sleeping on a
bench were having none of it, thankfully the pub opened up after the game so we
could partake of a lemonade or two.
Seems that they found Richard the 3rds bones in a car park in Leicester.
Richard III (2 October 1452 – 22 August 1485) was King of England for two years, from 1483
until his death in 1485 in the Battle of
Bosworth field. He was the last king of the House of York and the last of the
Plantagenet (relating or belonging to the English royal family that ruled
between 1154 and 1485) dynasty. His defeat at Bosworth Field, the decisive
battle of the Wars of the Roses,
is sometimes regarded as the end of the Middle Ages in England. He is the
subject of the play Richard 111 by
William Shakespeare. The University of Leicester confirmed
on 4 February 2013 that a skeleton found in the excavation was, beyond
reasonable doubt, that of Richard III, based on a combination of evidence from
radiocarbon dating, comparison with contemporary reports of his appearance, and
a comparison of his mitochondrial DNA with
two matrilineal descendants of Richard III's eldest sister, Anne of York.
Calamari is very very nice |
Had lunch on Saturday at Bridge Street Brewery, Tania and Gabby love the venue and must say so do I , has a nice chilled Vibe. i always busy, so the wait for food can be a little longer than expected but its usually worth it. a couple of ice cold beers and good company usually makes the time pass quicker.
Super 15 pre-season friendlies see Southern kings against Lions
which was interesting as the Lions had to make way for the Super Kings (Eastern
Cape, PE based franchise). The Lions won 41-31 so not the result that we wanted
but they did play well in patches, always a good excuse when your team
loses.
I was sent a Awesome
book this week by friend and author
Jonathan Pittaway, it’s called Selous Scouts -
the men speak, it has to be the best book on the Scouts ever, the time
and effort that has been put into this book is beyond belief and will
definitely become a collector’s item. The attention to detail the stories, the
photos are just incredible, I am actually in awe of Jonathan and the book he
has put together.
In a case similar to the rape case in India a couple of weeks back,
a Bredarsdorp (Western Cape) teenager (17) was gang raped, mutilated and left
for dead on a building sight, she was found by a security guard and rushed to
hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, but not before naming her
ex-boyfriend and another man who had taken part, both have been arrested. Anene
Booysen was apparently out with friends when she was waylaid and attacked. My condolences go out to her family
and friends as well as her community, this is just unacceptable and we South
Africans need to take our Villages,
towns and cities back from Scum like this, there is no place in our society for
Animals (my apologies to animals) like this they need to hunted down and either
hung or electrocuted. I know if that was my daughter and the men’s names were
known to me they would b dead, there is
no way i would be able to live with myself if i let them live. They will be given
a lenient sentence after a lengthy and costly trial, string the “f---kers up by
their nuts and let the families take revenge. Not Christian you say, well tough
shit, you have to fight fire with fire and scum like that do not deserve to
live as far as I am concerned.
AFCON cup final today, Nigeria take on Burkina Faso at the Soweto
Stadium later today, to be honest lost interest after Bafana were knocked out,
but if I was to choose a winner in would go with Burkina Faso as they really
played well against Ghana and deserve their place in the final, if they don’t
win also does not bother me. It’s just
hit me that the AFCON cup was/is the perfect opportunity for the
government to arrest all the illegal
immigrants in the country as every time a game was played you would see scores
of “supporters” waving flags etc, wonder how many were here legally.
Francois Botha “The white Buffalo” took on Sonny Bill Williams on
Friday in what was supposed to be a 12 round title fight, however the fight was
not over 12 but 10 rounds, SBW’s camp say that this had been arranged with
Botha’s camp, which they have denied, the ringside judges did not know, neither
did the paying public or the bookies. Sonny Bill won on points but was looking
like he could get knocked out as Botha was within seconds of doing so in the
10th round.....................mmmmmm sounds like match fixing to me. Williams, set to
re-start his rugby league career in Australia after several years of playing
rugby union, including a World Cup win with the All Blacks in 2011, had a
clause in his New Zealand Rugby Union contract allowing him a set number of
fights to pursue his boxing career. But his six professional victories, coming
against a string of ageing or unfit journeymen, have been slammed by
established fighters and pundits as commercial ventures lacking credibility.
Back in EL today for another week, it was hot and Muggy Hot in EL
last week with most nights being very hot. I went to gym twice at 5am (woke up
at 4.30am) yeah i know I was surprised as well. Had a couple of nice walks, the
one aft/eve about 8kms. Got 10 SAMTRAC students on the course, a nice group of
people as well. It s very intense course with lots of group and individual work
and some of the students are resorting to taking these to get through it.
During the walk on Thursday
saw this sign outside a pub, if it had of said Millers I may just have
stopped and popped in for a “soup of the day”
On Saturday while was
putting R20 petrol (now R11.92 per litre) into my scooter this Orange Porsche
GT3 RS pulls in. Not a big car fan, but this is awesome, does 350kms per hour
and has roll bars, not back seats.
Ok, well that’s about it for this week
Ciao
